Clinical Study on Drug-Coated Balloons for Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO)
Multicenter study comparing paclitaxel- versus sirolimus-coated balloons in complex coronary artery disease, assessing angiographic and physiological performance at 6 months.
PICCOLETO VI is a multicenter study that seeks to determine if paclitaxel drug-coated balloon is more effective than sirolimus drug-coated balloon in patients with native small vessel coronary artery disease, in terms of physiological persormance. The trial has been presented during EuroPCR 2024 and TCT 2024 (final results), demonstrating significance and impact in the interventional cardiology community. A blinded and independent core lab has assess the performance of these devices on the study endpoints. The final paper is in press in Asiaintervention Journal, and several sub-analyses are ongoing.
Has been published in Asia Intervention in March 2026.
